Great place with its free internet, 24-hour reception, and outdoor pool. During my first visit, the staff recommended delicious restaurants, which I'm grateful for. Can't wait to come back for Christmas!

We booked a fine room with a pull out couch. The food for breakfast was outstanding.

cut to the chase, here's my take
Check-in was swift, but the experience took a nosedive. Unclean rooms with maintenance issues were evident. I even spotted a few roaches. The breakfast staff lacked warmth, and my towels weren't replaced throughout my stay. Parking can be a headache too. In summary, this hotel needs a serious overhaul.

Free WIfi; Free breakfast; Friendliness of "day" staff. From the day staff manager to the people who serviced the breakfast, they were great. The young African-American gentleman in the evening at the front desk was exceptional as well.
1) The night staff young lady upon checking in was not pleasant at all especially when I told her I had made my reservation in December and did not get the room type I requested. It would have been nice to be in a room close to our friends; not 2 floor under them. It also would have been nice to know that I couldn't get my request in advance otherwise why ask us if we have requests? 2) We asked the service person on the next day to come back at 4:00 to clean our room and she said o.k. but did not tell us that 4:00 was the time she got off work so our room was not cleaned for that day. Those types of amenities is the reason why we chose Hampton Inn. If we knew we was going to be treated like we were at the "Do Drop Inn", we could have gone there and paid less money to be treated like we were. At least there I would have known why I had to make up my own bed.

The breakfast had some tasty options, but they seriously lacked on the waffle batter, which was a bummer. I felt like they were a bit rushed during the breakfast hours.

All of the staff were very friendly.
Really wanted to go to the pool on the only sunny day of the weekend and it was closed. Not opening until Memorial Day. The attendant at the desk did open the court yard for us to sit in the sun, which was very nice of her.

The location was perfect, just a short
Drive from the main attractions in the area. The room was spacious, but we did experience some maintenance issues that required attention. The staff was friendly and accommodating were nice.

The gentleman who managed the food facilities was very very kind.
The location of the hotel is very difficult to determine from the main road. Even though we could see the hotel signs, we couldn't figure out how to get there (turns out the hotel is located quite away from the main road, next to a bowling alley and a school. Huh?). What was worse was we called the hotel from a restaurant that two lights away, the person who answered was most unhelpful. Surely we haven't been the only ones to have been in this situation. When we finally figured out how to get to the hotel, we could see that the sign for the hotel, at the main road, was completely dark and not at all visible, even when you know what to look for. That was the only issue I had but it's significant when you have been travelling all day. Luckily every thing got better after that.

Decent Stay with Room for Improvement
The queen room was clean, but I was disappointed with breakfast, as the waffle batter wasn't refilled before closing. The staff seemed accommodating, and I appreciated the hot breakfast options. Don't miss asking for breakfast to-go bags!

The staff went above and beyond to serve me needs.
I was placed on a floor that appeared to house several displaced families and children running the halls. As a business traveler I was not comfortable scooting around children.

Mattress and pillows were comfortable; loved having pillows with different levels of fill to choose from. Price was reasonable, though I paid less for full suites at a couple of different places in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area in recent months, including Residence Inn.
1) Carpet in room appeared clean but was so dirty that I had to change the white socks I had just put on when we arrived because they were filthy after the little walking around in them I did while unpacking during the first half-hour in our room. 2) One of the main reasons I choose to stay at Hampton Inn when possible is because of their usually friendly staff and the hospitality shown to guests, which includes keeping hot coffee and hot water (along with tea bags, and hot chocolate mix) in the lobby for guests 24 hours a day. Not at this Hampton Inn! The containers were set up on a counter in the lobby, but they contained cold coffee and cold water with very limited types of tea bags (but unfortunately none of the Sweet Dreams Tea I usually drink before bed when traveling to help me get a good night's rest). There was a microwave oven across from the cold coffee & water with a sign across the top of the door which very clearly stated in bold print : WARNING; DO NOT PUT PAPER CUPS IN MICROWAVE!" The sign also warned that the paper cups could catch fire. Regardless, my husband and our adult daughter heated their cold coffee in the microwave for 1 minute, after which there was a very distinct burning odor. A a result, I went to the front desk to let the clerk know that both the coffee and the "hot water" were cold, and asked if she had something other than a paper cup I could heat my coffee in since the sign on the microwave warned against putting paper cups in it. She clearly didn't want to be bothered and said "That's okay, just heat it for 30 seconds, then it won't burn." To which I replied that 30 seconds wasn't enough because it was cold - not the least bit warm. Her response was to tell me to put it back in again for another 30 seconds if it wasn't hot enough after the first 30 seconds.
